Who We Are
Our History
This Vistula organization was initially founded in 2019 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping an often underrepresented and impoverished neighborhood. After collectively gauging community needs, provisions were made to provide free hair cuts and braids for school aged children, school supplies/backpacks were distributed, and an annual jazz festival was organized to provide neighbors opportunities to rebuild relationships, trust, and bonding.
We are growing into a thriving nonprofit, serving many individuals and families in the community each year. Our goal is to continue to provide community social activities, needed supplies to school aged children, and to engage neighbors to invest in their own community and to have a vital voice with regard to community building and improvements, and changes within their district.

Our team is made up of dedicated business owners, investors, and neighbors who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve within this underrepresented, underserved community.
OUR MISSION
We are committed to creating a sense of unity/trust within the community holding meetings & events to foster open communication. By increasing awareness/participation in areas such as health/social issues/development, we are facilitating meaningful interactions that will create a stronger, healthier neighborhood.
